Amy Winehouse: Paramedics were called to the singers home

Amy Winehouse cancelled her appearance at a music festival in France this weekend 'at the last minute'.

Organisers of the Paris event said here was 'no explanation of the exact reasons for her absence' but a spokesman for London Ambulance Service has confirmed its paramedics were called to the singer's home.

Her spokesman tells BBC News: 'Amy Winehouse was regrettably unable to perform at the Rock En Seine show in Paris due to illness.

'She was taken ill at her house and wasn't able to travel to France for the concert.'

Amy, 24, who has been diagnosed with lung disease emphysema, was hospitalised last month after reacting to prescribed medication.

Hopefully the troubled star will be well enough to appear at the Bestival festival on the Isle of Wight next week.
